






On the afternoon of December 24,2025 Rescue 82 was dispatched on the initial alarm to a tragic nursing home explosion with fire and reported entrapment at the Old Silver Lake Nursing Home. Rescue 82 responded with five personnel, along with the Chief, Deputy Chief, and Battalion Chief.
Upon arrival, crews operated under a unified command structure, working alongside numerous mutual aid fire companies, law enforcement, EMS units, and medical staff from Lower Bucks Hospital. Firefighters assisted with the rapid evacuation and rescue of multiple residents, conducted assigned life-safety operations, and completed additional tasks as directed by Command throughout the incident, which extended late into the night.
This response was a true demonstration of interagency coordination, selfless service, and the dedication of first responders and healthcare professionals working under extremely difficult and emotional conditions.
