– Since the start of 2026, the volunteers of Newportville Fire Co. #1 have already been dispatched to over 150 emergency calls throughout our community and surrounding areas. From structure fires and vehicle accidents to emergency assists, our members continue to answer the call whenever our neighbors need us most.

– This winter kept our volunteers busy. Members staffed multiple snowstorm duty crews, along with our regularly scheduled monthly duty crews, ensuring apparatus were ready and staffed despite the challenging weather conditions. I think we can all agree we’re happy to see winter finally behind us.

-Training never stops. Our members train every Wednesday night, focusing heavily on the fundamentals that make great firefighters—riding assignments, hose line deployment, search and rescue operations, and teamwork on the fireground. Strong basics save lives, and our members take that responsibility seriously. 🚨

We are also excited to announce that 8 new volunteer members have recently joined our ranks! These individuals are currently working through their in-house training packets and will be attending Firefighter I training this summer. The future of our company continues to grow thanks to those willing to step forward and serve.

Recently, our community experienced tragedy with the Dorrance Street fire. The officers and members of Newportville Fire Company extend our deepest condolences to the residents who lost so much, as well as to the victim’s family. Today, members of the company attended a fundraiser dinner to help support and raise money for those affected. Supporting our community goes far beyond emergency response—it’s about standing with our neighbors during their hardest times.

Despite the busy call volume and responsibilities, the firehouse is also a place of brotherhood and family. With the warmer weather arriving, members recently took time to gather together for a company BBQ, enjoying time together outside of emergency calls and training.

🔥 Newportville Fire Company is proud to be 100% volunteer.
Our members balance careers, families, and everyday life while still making time to serve their community.

If you’ve ever thought about becoming a firefighter, helping your community, or being part of something bigger than yourself, we would love to have you join our family.
